Aqueous extract of P. marsupium heartwood was evaluated for hypoglycemic activity on
alloxan-induced diabetic rats in both acute and subacute
tests. Results showed that the extract produced statistically significant hypoglycemic effects at an oral
dose of 250 mg/kg.
